Forbes: $12.5 million Tipping Point Fund on Impact Investing, A Coalition Of High-Profile Donors, Will Finance Impact Investing Infrastructure

Public advocacy and a shared system for measurement are critical to building a solid infrastructure for impact investing. But they haven’t received a lot of love from a lot of large funders.

To address that gap, nine foundations and family offices just announced the launch of the Tipping Point Fund on Impact Investing (TPF). The donor collaborative, with $12.5 million in initial funding, is aimed at scaling much-needed field-building efforts in impact investing and maintaining both the growth and integrity of the impact investing market.

The inaugural funders include such heavyweights as Ford Foundation, Omidyar Network, the Rockefeller Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation. The U.S. Impact Investing Alliance will manage operations.
